Awaiting In A Secret Chamber
Where Time And Space Are Mortal
Open The Surreal Prospect
To Sacrifice The Awareness And Senses
They Will Follow These Distant Forerunners
Who Advocate The Only Tangible Notion
Their Motility Burns Off The Layers
As They Take Us Away From Here
Torn From The Vital Fabric
Our Identities Given To The Ether
No Trail Left To Revise Our Steps
In A World That Does Not Exist
The Cry Of The Birds Pierce The Cynical Air
Claiming The Spirits Of Those Loved And Those Lost
Their Presence Is Forlorn And Ominous
As Our Vitality Is Accepted And Gone As Vapor
I Can Vaguely Recall Your Actions
And The Words You Used To Articulate
A Descendant From A Timeless Void
Uproot Rubble To Unearth Us And We Resurface
I Can Trace Your Name In The Air We Embrace
As We Tread Fragile Steps Through Constellations
Paint All My Thoughts And Revelations Onto The Canvas Of The Sky
But I Cannot See Your Face
L'obsidienne est une roche de couleur noire et son aspect vitreux absorbe le regard ; mais sous la lumière, elle produit de magnifiques reflets arcs-en-ciel. C'est ce degré de magnificence qu'Obsidian Tongue vise dans A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time. Si la production est toujours rugueuse, le duo américain met l'accent sur les mélodies, plus profondes et mélancoliques. Progressives, les pistes se rallongent et se condensent. Un bel opus qui frôle, sans l'atteindre encore, la perfection ! Jordan Vauvert
PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson
